This months program

'Before The Future' is the name of an album and song released mid 2025 by Rebecca Schiffman, an indie artist who grew up in New York and now resides in LA. The song Before The Future is a tender 9 minute nostalgic tale that charts an attraction and close friendship that goes back to Schiffman's teenage years. It's a stunningly beautiful track, meticulousy crafted and produced over several years. It's a tribute to Schiffman's storytelling, songwriting and perseverance to bring this story to life. It was also my favourite song from 2025. 

I caught up with Rebecca in late December when she was in New York and again a few weeks later when she was at home in LA to chat about her album 'Before The Future', her music generally, her influences etc. Along the way we touch on long gaps between albums and Schiffman's fear of flying among other things.

Songs featured include 'Before The Future' and 'Bubble Of Love'.
