A spectrum is a continuous range of values, colours, or ideas that blend into one another without sharp divisions - it represents a gradual transition between two extremes.  Bernie explores Leonard Ferguson's 1950s analysis of the political spectrum, distilling this down to 10 scales (with a song for each scale - well most of them).  Sandy riffs on the term frequency, which is says is a key aspect of spectrum analysis, and focuses on frequency adverbs from 'Always' to 'never'.  And Michael presents three types of spectrums - lift and science, medical and psychological, and everyday language.  Needless to say there is a wonderful selection of songs played in this episode.  Enjoy.
